Biography:

Orphaned at a young age, though part of a wealthy family, Priscilla Thorpe (maiden name Priscilla Abernathy), had a sensitive heart for less fortunate children. Even before her marriage to wealthy merchant, Abraham Thorpe – a cousin of her adoptive family, she regularly made donations to local orphanages.

At one such donation, she and her husband saw a beautiful baby girl Madam Thorpe couldn’t leave without – Alexandria Luray. She had ten wonderful years with Alexandria until she fell ill while traveling home with the girl. After being robbed at an inn in Port de Couler de Bateaux, her adoptive daughter offered to work at the inn in exchange for her care. After a week at the inn, doctors moved Madam Thorpe to a London hospital, but Madam Thorpe didn’t survive the trip and details of Alexandria’s whereabouts were lost. A deeply grieved Mr. Abraham Thorpe did not pursue the matter.
