Biography:

Not much is known about Jemima Bumbleridge’s life before she arrived with her husband in Port de Couler de Bateaux. It is believed she grew up in an orphanage. Rumor says she gave her husband, Fred, a black eye when she was 16. He doesn’t deny it. Together, they purchased an old inn with the money they got from auctioning the boat they’d arrived in. Business was good and they were happy.

After a few years, a strange circumstance presented itself. A sickly woman showed up at the inn with a brave girl who was willing to stay and work in exchange for the woman’s care. Unfortunately for the girl, the woman had to be transported to London suddenly and was never heard from again. However, Jemima, despite her gruff exterior, fell in love with both this girl and the girl Fred picked up and thought of them like her own granddaughters. She and Fred left them everything they had.
