Biography:

Rugged and strong, Daniel Taylor was born in a family of fishermen and worked hard for everything in his life. Even the marriage to his dear wife, Gwendolyn, was not without great effort. He would swear, however, until the day he died, the next best day of his life (second only to his wedding day) was when they discovered Jacqueline Luray in an orphanage near their home town. She had a twin who they planned to return for in six month’s time, but was gone when they reconnected with the orphanage.

Taylor had recently began captaining his own ship and loved having the young lass on board with him once she was old enough. But then, sweet Gwendolyn fell ill when Jacq was about five years old. For three years Taylor tried to get her well, but accrued much debt in the process. Sadly, she still passed on. In a last ditch effort to turn his finances around, he traded Jacq for a sum of gold to an innkeeper with the promise of returning for her. He was well on his way in about three years, but was killed in a storm while aboard his ship before he was able to get Jacq.
